Claude b4eccbd02d ai-stack: accept 0 as an explicit "skip cloud providers" choice
Blank already meant skip, but user feedback wanted a keystroke that says
so explicitly rather than just leaving the input empty. Added "0) Skip —
stay fully local" to the menu, updated the prompt to mention it, and
handled "0" as a silent no-op in the choice loop (previously it would
have fallen through to the "Ignoring unknown choice" warning).

Claude 4399e8db71 ai-stack: state "skip = stay fully local" on the prompt line itself
The instruction was only in explanatory text a few lines above the actual
prompt (prompt_text "Cloud providers to add []:") — easy to miss once
that's scrolled past, especially since the bracketed default shows empty
but doesn't say what empty means. User feedback: the screen itself should
say it, not just text above it. Now reads "Cloud providers to add (blank =
skip, stay fully local):".

Claude ac76ef5181 ai-stack: offer an optional vision-capable Ollama model, including moondream
None of local-ai-setup.sh's tier-selected models (CHAT_MODEL/CODE_MODEL/
EMBED_MODEL) can read an image — there was no way to get vision support out
of this stack at all before now. Added a numbered pick-list to the
generated pull-models.sh, right after the existing DeepSeek-R1 optional
pull, matching that same read -rp pattern:

  1) moondream ~1.7 GB by Moondream AI — tiny, built for
                                    CPU-only or weak/old-GPU hardware
  2) llava:7b ~4.7 GB general-purpose vision
  3) qwen2.5vl:7b ~6 GB stronger accuracy, more RAM/VRAM
  4) llama3.2-vision:11b ~7.9 GB heaviest of the four

moondream is the recommended default — sized for exactly the "6 vCPU, 8GB
RAM, no GPU" case this was asked for, unlike the other three which assume
real GPU/RAM headroom.

Verified by actually running the heredoc that generates pull-models.sh
(with EMBED_MODEL/CHAT_MODEL/CODE_MODEL stood in) and syntax-checking the
resulting output script, not just the source — the outer heredoc is
unquoted so $-escaping mistakes wouldn't show up as a bash -n failure on
local-ai-setup.sh itself, only on what it generates.

services/ai-stack.md gets a matching "Vision models" section (sizes, the
manual pull command, and how to point an app's OPENAI_MODEL at one).
laptop_full_setup.sh's separate, non-interactive pull-models.sh generator
is untouched — it's not invoked anywhere in this repo's own install flow
(only local-ai-setup.sh is, from install_ai-stack()), so it's out of
scope here.

Claude b2d064573f Move ai-stack and paintplus vendored source under vendor/
Matches the existing vendor/easy-asterisk convention (used by
services/asterisk.sh) instead of two one-off top-level directories that
cluttered the repo root and didn't look like anything else next to
setup.sh, lib/, services/, extras/. Only the two services' own SRC_DIR
path resolution and header comments needed updating — nothing else in
the repo referenced the old ./ai-stack / ./paintplus paths.

Also documents vendor/ in README.md's Layout section.

Claude d6092dde4c Move static service docs into services/<name>.md companion files
Applies the new write_readme companion-doc convention to ai-stack,
paintplus, and kyber-launcher: install-time-invariant content (usage
walkthroughs, service tables, troubleshooting) moves out of the .sh
heredocs into sibling services/<name>.md files, leaving only genuinely
install-specific content inline.

- services/paintplus.md: config/cloud/GPU/ai-stack-backend/update/Caddy
sections, picked up automatically via write_readme's companion-doc
  support.
- services/ai-stack.md: roles, GPU switcher, service URLs, cloud LLM
provider setup, update, Caddy. ai-stack.sh can't use write_readme
directly (its POST-INSTALL-NOTES.md filename deliberately avoids
colliding with the vendored app's own README.md in the same
directory), so it appends the companion file manually.
- services/kyber-launcher.md: the full SWBF2 (2017) + Kyber walkthrough,
moved out of the root README's "Gaming scripts" section (which now
just points here). kyber-launcher.sh now calls write_readme to deploy
it to ~/.local/share/kyber/README.md, fixing a stale in-script pointer
to a README section that no longer exists.

Claude 1fc0a6edfe Apply the local/remote Caddy mode resolution to every service, not just traccar
traccar.sh's caddy_net wiring was fixed to mirror configure_caddy_for_service's
own mode resolution (CADDY_MODE from site config, then a local ~/docker/caddy,
then the legacy CADDY_REMOTE_HOST var) instead of only checking for the local
directory. That same bare directory check was copy-pasted into the caddy_net
wiring of every other Docker service in the repo, so a site with Caddy on a
different box would silently fail to join any of their containers to caddy_net
during setup (or, for homeassistant/koha, only get half the wiring right).

Applied the same fix mechanically across all 37 services using the standard
_CADDY_NET_BLOCK/_CADDY_NET_SECTION pattern (verified identical text via
scripted diff before touching any of them), plus by hand for:
- homeassistant.sh and koha.sh, which use their own differently-shaped
variables (HA_CADDY_NET_LINES / _CADDY_NET_ENTRY) for the same decision
- paintplus.sh and ai-stack.sh, which do a live `docker network connect`
instead of a compose network block
- watchyourlan.sh, whose Caddy note was worded for local-only setups

sms-inbound.sh got more than a mode swap: its Caddy wiring was hand-rolled
(not routed through configure_caddy_for_service) and had no remote-Caddy
path at all — a remote Caddy box would get a misleading "Caddy isn't
installed here" message instead of a snippet. Added
_sms_write_caddy_snippet(), mirroring the snippet-file pattern
configure_caddy_for_service uses everywhere else, and pointed the firewall
gate at the same three-way mode instead of a two-way dir check.

Verified: bash -n across all of services/*.sh, a scripted check that every
touched file has exactly one _CADDY_MODE resolution and no leftover bare
`[ -d "$DOCKER_DIR/caddy" ]` feeding a caddy_net decision, and spot-checked
docker compose config renders (traccar, mattermost) confirming the ${VAR}
interpolation and multi-service usage sites still resolve correctly.

Claude 0d6cf89e1d ai-stack: add optional GPU switcher and clarify frontend roles
Add gpu-mode.sh (written into ~/docker/ai-stack at install): time-shares
one small GPU between local chat (Ollama, for Open WebUI) and local
image-gen (InvokeAI + ComfyUI, backends for PaintPlus), leaving the
always-on services (Open WebUI, Gitea, RAG, MCP, Kiwix) untouched. A new
"small local GPU?" prompt enables it: when on, the GPU defaults to chat
mode after install and the user is told to swap deliberately. Cloud
models need no swap.

Document the intended split in POST-INSTALL-NOTES: Open WebUI is the
text hub (chat/research/light coding, wired to Gitea + GitHub sync + RAG
+ MCP), PaintPlus is the single image hub (cloud or local comfyui/
invokeai backend). Note web search is DuckDuckGo — this installer path
generates no SearXNG, so the SearXNG references are dropped.

Claude c6576178b4 ai-stack: vendor the local-ai full AI stack as a new service
Vendor the functional source of github.com/outis1one/local-ai into
./ai-stack (22 files) and add services/ai-stack.sh, which copies the
source to ~/docker/ai-stack and hands off to the app's VRAM-aware
installer (local-ai-setup.sh). The stack bundles Ollama, Open WebUI,
RAG + MCP servers, ChromaDB, SearXNG, Kiwix, Gitea, InvokeAI, ComfyUI
and Portainer.

Cloud LLM providers (Groq/DeepInfra/OpenAI/OpenRouter) are optionally
wired into Open WebUI via the plural OPENAI_API_BASE_URLS list, with the
local RAG connection kept as the first entry so RAG keeps working. Open
WebUI ships built-in auth, so Caddy is configured without Authelia.

Excludes the upstream's two bundled copies of this very project
(ubuntu-post-install.sh, ubuntu-post-install-main.zip) — stale and
circular. Coexists with the existing ai-gpu service.

Also fix the install-function names for ai-gpu and ai-stack: the
dispatcher calls install_<raw-name>, so the function must be
install_ai-gpu / install_ai-stack (hyphen), matching the working
mail-archiver / wg-easy services. ai-gpu was previously uninstallable.
